STOLEN ART AND HOLOCAUST CLAIMS
The lecture deals with Nazi Ideology and art, including justification
for the looting, Hitler's plan for his own museum, his competition for art with
Field Marshal Goering, the destruction of "degenerate art", the
looting of Europe, the involvement of the Swiss, why it has taken so long for
the return of looted art especially to Jewish families, the legal barriers, the
restitution cases brought in France, Germany, Austria, America, Russia, Canada
and various other countries including Israel and Hitler's plan for a
"Jewish Museum" and why.

Mr. Milrad is presently a member of the Board
of Trustees of The International Foundation for Art Research in New York, the
International Board of the Tel Aviv Museum, incoming Chair of the Museum
Trustee Association (Washington D.C.) and is Chair of the Board of The George
R. Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art.. As well, he was a
former board member of the Art Gallery of Ontario, former President of
Harbourfront Art Gallery, Toronto, the Koffler Gallery, Toronto, as well as a
member of the board of the Contemporary Cultural Institute of the Royal Ontario
Museum amongst other organizations.
AARON M. MILRAD is a member of Fraser Milner Casgrain
LLP, a Canadian national law firm.. At Milner Casgrain
he provides specialized legal services to clients across Canada, the USA and Internationally who are involved in the visual, performing
and literary arts, music, publishing, media and multimedia areas.
He is a regular lecturer, speaker and commentator on
the law and the arts at universities, business and legal conferences and
seminars in Canada and the United States and has published numerous articles in
his areas of expertise for Canadian, British and American publications.
