The 23rd Annual Spinoza-Meir Lecture invites you to listen to
Professor Dennis Stoutenburg speak on
God and the Torah in Josephus' Antiquities of the Jews
this lecture will consider the controversial figure of Flavius Josephus as he presents the message of the Torah in Jewish Antiquites 1-4. A 1st century Jewish historian benefitting from Flavian patronage, Josephus was embraced by early Christian writers but marginalized by his own tradition. Today, Jewish and Christian scholars alike consider the merit of his extant writings.
